What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you?

In this independent podcast hosted by journalist Christopher Wynn, guests answer the question with personal stories that are often creepy and sometimes funny, but always thought-provoking.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Strange debuted in 2016 as a journalism experiment from arts writer and editor Christopher Wynn and filmmaker/composer Jason Reimer. The show became an Apple Podcasts “New & Noteworthy” pick and earned a “must-hear” nod from Wired. Strange relaunched in 2022 as a Texas-based independent podcast.

Guests on the show have included podcaster Jeffrey Cranor (Welcome to Night Vale), author and television writer Merritt Tierce (Love Me Back, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black), author Jeff Guinn (Manson, The Road to Jonestown), actor Stephen Tobolowsky (Groundhog Day), cartoonist Robb Armstrong and New York Times bestselling memoirist and podcaster Sarah Hepola (Blackout, America’s Girls from Texas Monthly).

Wynn and Reimer also collaborated with Brooklyn-based Atlas Obscura in 2016 for a special episode that featured David Plotz (Slate Political Gabfest, City Cast), Joshua Foer (Moonwalking with Einstein), Dylan Thuras and Ella Morton.

CHRISTOPHER WYNN | Host, Co-Creator and Co-Producer

Christopher Wynn is a Dallas-based arts journalist and podcaster. He works out his anxieties by sharing personal stories on Strange and by inviting his guests to share theirs. He became fascinated by vintage radio shows as a child and made his own audio plays using turntables and cassette recorders. His technology has improved considerably since then. Christopher lives with his partner, a watchmaker, and a terrier in a creaky house with good sound.

JASON REIMER  | Composer, Co-Creator and Co-Producer

Jason Reimer composes and supervises the music for Strange and helps shape the show. He is an independent producer, composer and filmmaker who co-founded the Talented Friends creative production group and the Oak Cliff Film Festival. He’s also creative director and partner at Aviation Cinemas, owners of the historic Texas Theatre. It was Jason’s story about a film location scouting trip gone wrong that first gave Christopher the idea for Strange and they joined forces to make the show.
