What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you?

In this indie podcast from journalist Christopher Wynn, guests answer that question with personal stories that are often creepy, sometimes funny and always thought-provoking.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Strange launched in 2016 as a journalism experiment from writer and editor Christopher Wynn and filmmaker/composer Jason Reimer — and quickly earned an Apple Podcasts "New & Noteworthy" pick and a "must-hear" from Wired. The show relaunched in 2022 as a Texas-based independent podcast.

Over the years, Strange has attracted a range of remarkable guests: podcaster Jeffrey Cranor (Welcome to Night Vale), author and TV writer Merritt Tierce (Love Me Back, Orange is the New Black), author Jeff Guinn (Manson, The Road to Jonestown), actor Stephen Tobolowsky (Groundhog Day), cartoonist Robb Armstrong, and New York Times bestselling memoirist and podcast host Sarah Hepola (Blackout, Texas Monthly’s America's Girls).

Wynn and Reimer also partnered with Brooklyn-based Atlas Obscura in 2016 for a special episode featuring David Plotz (Slate Political Gabfest, City Cast), Joshua Foer (Moonwalking with Einstein), Dylan Thuras and Ella Morton.

CHRISTOPHER WYNN | Host, Co-Creator and Co-Producer

Christopher Wynn is a Dallas-based journalist and podcaster who has been obsessed with audio storytelling since childhood, when he made his own radio plays using turntables and cassette recorders. His technology has improved considerably since then. On Strange, Christopher works out his anxieties by sharing personal stories — and inviting his guests to share theirs. He lives with his partner and a terrier in a creaky house with good sound.

JASON REIMER  | Composer, Co-Creator and Co-Producer

Jason Reimer composes and supervises the music for Strange and helps shape the show. He is an independent producer, composer and filmmaker who co-founded the Talented Friends creative production group and the Oak Cliff Film Festival. He’s also creative director and partner at Aviation Cinemas, owners of the historic Texas Theatre. It was Jason’s story about a film location scouting trip gone wrong that first gave Christopher the idea for Strange and they joined forces to make the show.
